Music Director - David Gibson

Our Millennium Season at Fairfield Halls introduced our new Music Director, David Gibson, to our audience. We were extremely fortunate to secure his services to steer us into the new Millennium, following James Gaddarn's retirement in 1999.
His performing career started as a chorister at Chichester Cathedral; he was the original treble soloist in Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, which he sang in the composer's presence. (We are sure to be performing this work with him in the near future.)

He has conducted many operas, not least for the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, for whom he directed a season of The Pirates of Penzance in the West End. David is currently Music Director of two other choirs, Southampton Philharmonic Choir and Basingstoke Choral Society.

We have enjoyed working with David during recent seasons, for which we have received some excellent press reviews, and are looking forward to many more years under his expert direction.
