The 94th Season: 2007-2008

Our ninth season under our Music Director, David Gibson, will find us again performing some outstanding masterpieces of choral music. Tickets are available from members of the choir.

Tuesday 18th September 2007 Open Rehearsal and Workshop at 7.15pm at St Matthew's Church, Chichester Road, CR0 5NQ. 
Friday 12th October 2007 The Friends Association presents a recital by Crispian Steele-Perkins (trumpet) and Ian le Grice (organ) at 7.30pm at St Matthew's Church, Chichester Road, CR0 5NQ. Click here for flyer. 
Saturday 17th November 2007 The Croydon Philharmonic Choir bring you Elgar's The Spirit of England and Grania & Diarmid and Lloyd Webber's Requiem at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon. This will mark both the 150th anniversary of Elgar's birthday and Andrew Lloyd Webber's 60th birthday. Click here for press release or flyer 
Saturday 2nd February 2008 Handel's Messiah at 7.30pm at St. Martin's Church, Dorking, conducted by Music Director, David Gibson, with Crispian Steele-Perkins (trumpet), Ian le Grice (organ) and members of the New London Sinfonia (string ensemble). Soloists: Erica Eloff (soprano), Louise Poole (mezzo-soprano), Adrian Ward (tenor), and Hakan Vramsmo (baritone). Tickets £12.00. Click here for further details in our press release. Saturday 8th March 2008 All day workshop from 10.00am until 5.00pm at St Matthew's Church, Chichester Road, CR0 5NQ. All singers welcome. Click here for further details and an application form. 
Sunday 6th April 2008 We join forces with the Basingstoke Choral Society at The Anvil in Basingstoke.  The programme will include Ariel RamirezMissa Criolla, Morten Lauridsen Lux Aeterna and Samuel Coleridge-TaylorHiawatha's Wedding Feast. Friday 30th May 2008 The Friends of Croydon Philharmonic Choir present Prof. Grenville Hancox of Canterbury Christ Church University talking on 'The Great Value of Singing for Pleasure and Health'.
