The 93rd Season: 2006-2007

Our eighth season under our Music Director, David Gibson, will find us again performing some outstanding masterpieces of choral music.

Concerts are held at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon unless stated otherwise. Click here for a map. Tickets for Fairfield Halls events are available from the box office, or via a member of the choir.

Planned highlights of the 2006 - 2007 season are:

Saturday 11th November 2006
The Croydon Philharmonic Choir are once again invited to join the televised Festival of Remembrance from the Royal Albert Hall.

Saturday 18th November 2006
The Croydon Philharmonic Choir join forces with the Wimbledon Choral Society to bring you Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man, Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music and the Bruckner Te Deum, under the direction of the choirs' two Music Directors, David Gibson and Michael Ashcroft.

Saturday 16th December 2006
The Croydon Philharmonic Choir present Christmas Carols for Choir and Audience in conjunction with the London Mozart Players and Croydon Parish Church Choir with Matthew Crane (the UK's youngest operatic baritone) in a musical celebration of Christmas with popular carols for choirs and audience. Saturday 3rd March 2007
An American Evening with Croydon Philharmonic Choir and the New London Sinfonia, conducted by David Gibson – a sparkling collection of works by American composers or inspired by that continent, including George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris, Constant Lambert’s The Rio Grande, Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Canticle of Freedom and the Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein. Sunday 6th May 2007
The Croydon Philharmonic Choir in an afternoon concert of music by Mozart, including the Coronation Mass, under the direction of our Music Director, David Gibson, with cream tea during the interval, in the Royal Russell School Hall. Download a copy of the concert flyer here.
